Aim and Stats

Now in our eighth year of operation, the aim of the "OD" sessions is to continue to foster an appreciation of Enterprise Thinking, as well as inthinking, within an emerging thinking network that is developing inside Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne and beyond. Dates for future "OD" sessions along with additional "thinking" opportunities for 2007 can be found in this announcement.

OD Stats

For an update on OD statistics, this month's invitation is going out to 3729 partners in the U.S., as well as fellow inthinking partners in Australia, Austria, Bosnia-
Hercegovina, Brazil, Canada, China, Dubai, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, India, Iran, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the U.K.. Taken together, these individuals represent over 600 organizations in this list of nations, from elementary schools and senior high schools to colleges and universities, from one-person consulting firms to United Technologies, GM, IBM, General Electric, NASA, and Philips Electronics. Among this list of invitees, participation in last month's OD conference call with

In2:InThinking Network 2007 Screen Saver

Good morning from Canoga Park, California, home of United Technologies' Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne.

With the passing of passing of
World Sauntering Day
on June 19th ("You can spend your life walking through life, jogging through life, or being dragged through life. But, life is far more enjoyable, if you saunter through it. Its doubly true if you saunter with a friend or loved one."), it's time to come together for a few hours of "thinking together." This month's Ongoing Discussion is scheduled for Thursday, June 28th and Friday, June 29th, from 12-2pm Pacific Time on both days.

ADDITIONS               DELETIONS

Thought Leader - Jon Bergstrom

Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne's Enterprise Thinking Network welcomes Jon Bergstrom as our sixth Thought Leader for 2007 (and our 90th OD since January 2000) on June 28th and 29th.

Jon Bergstrom

The theme of the June Ongoing Discussion is "Recognizing Our Own Power". Jon Bergstrom, a charter member of the In2:InThinking Network and mentor to several of us, returns as our Thought Leader this month. His Thought Piece is the starting point for our conversation. Jon's essay offers a rich experience for anyone who will make time before the teleconference to explore some of the ideas and materials that influenced his thinking about how we might use our existing knowledge to make a difference. Or, in other words, "to do what we can from where we are".

If you have only limited time to explore, we recommend you consider some the questions Jon offers, beginning on page 5 of his essay. Every great conversation is based on a really good question, and Jon gives us a number of paths to generate a meaningful interaction this month. This approach is consistent with the work of Peter Block, Edgar Schein, Fran Peavey, and The World Café, all proponents of the value of powerful questions. Jon will also connect us to the Leadership & Management Model developed by John Kotter so we can see how we all have the opportunity to manage and lead even in the absence of position power.

We hope you can join us for at least one session this month.

Jon Bergstrom provides a wide range of business consulting services through the Bergstrom Learning Center in Tehachapi, California. Prior to his recent retirement, he worked for Shell Oil Company for 35 years in a variety of engineering and management positions.

Through his consulting practice, he assists organizations in Leadership and Management, Strategic Planning, Organizational Success, Executive Coaching, Personal Mastery, Systemic Thinking, Team Skills, Change Leadership, Meeting Planning and Facilitation, and Conflict Management.

He is a member of the In2:InThinking Network Forum planning team and provides workshops on a regular basis. He has also conducted numerous workshops at business and learning conferences in the United States and Europe. He was a member of the planning team for the Space Generation Forum at the 1999 United Nations Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Space in Vienna, Austria and continues work with SGF participants.

He is a member of the adjunct faculty at International Space University in Strasbourg, France and has provided team skills workshops to students since 2000. The workshops for the Masters Program in Strasbourg and the summer sessions at locations around the world are intended to provide students with concepts and processes that will enhance their team experience at the university.
