Aim and Stats

Aim

Now in our eighth year of operation, the aim of the "OD" sessions is to continue to foster an appreciation of Enterprise Thinking, as well as inthinking, within an emerging thinking network that is developing inside Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne and beyond. Dates for future "OD" sessions along with additional "thinking" opportunities for 2007 can be found in this announcement.

OD Stats

For an update on OD statistics, this month's invitation is going out to 3573 partners in the U.S., as well as fellow inthinking partners in Australia, Austria, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Brazil, Canada, China, Dubai, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, India, Iran, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the U.K.. Taken together, these individuals represent over 600 organizations in this list of nations, from elementary schools and senior high schools to colleges and universities, from one-person consulting firms to United Technologies, GM, IBM, General Electric, NASA, and Philips Electronics. Among this list of invitees, participation in last month?s OD conference call with Sheldon Rovin included 35 partners from across the US and England as well (103 have joined us so far in 2 sessions in 2007, 444 partners joined us throughout 2006, 402 thinking partners joined us throughout 2005).

The diffusion process to connect thought leaders continuuues...

In2:IN

Good morning from Canoga Park, California, home of United Technologies' Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne.

With the passing of Pi Day on March 14th (as well as Einstein's birthday) and the coming of the 101st anniversary of U.S. explorers Lewis and Clark reaching the Pacific coast, it's time to come together for a few hours of "thinking together." This month?s Ongoing Discussion is scheduled for Thursday, March 22nd and Friday, March 23rd, from 12-2pm Pacific Time on both days.

  • March 2007 Ongoing Discussion - Andrew Johnson
  •

Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne's Enterprise Thinking Network welcomes Andrew Johnson as our third Thought Leader for 2007 in a preview of his pre-conference seminar at the upcoming In2:InThinking Network's Forum in April. Andrew's Thought Piece is posted on the In2:InThinking Network's website. We think you will find it stimulating, with important implications for how we think, learn, and work together. Thus, a perfect fit for this month's Ongoing Discussion.

Andrew's essay is titled "Untying the Knot to Creativity Beyond Thought ? A Trans-Egoic Perspective on Innovation". In it he discusses a way of thinking that many of us may be a little familiar with and may have even experienced. Andrew asks, how can we increase the frequency and quality of this type of thinking experience, which he calls "Creativity Beyond Thought." This is the "a-ha" moment of profound insight that is distinct beyond mere better understanding.

Read this paper and sit for a while with the questions it will provoke. The paper has the potential to bring forth a rich and meaningful conversation.

Andrew brings a rich history in facilitation, coaching, training, economics and national politics to his role as founding partner of Miruspoint Facilitators, Inc. His articulate insight, passion for individual transcendence and strategic execution of change processes have helped shape Miruspoint's remarkable development as a force in the world of transpersonal psychology and evolution. Andrew graduated with Honours in Economics from Carleton University and worked on Parliament Hill as a Committee Officer, notably on the Meech Lake Accord, and later as Assistant to the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate. As the Vice President for an economic consulting firm, he authored policy papers for the Canadian and foreign governments. In the early 1990s he launched Andrew Johnson Associates, Inc. which specializes in partnering, team building, strategic planning, executive coaching, organizational management and facilitation. His clients range from the municipal, provincial and federal governments to major construction and design, oil and gas, and forestry and transportation industries as well as small businesses. Andrew's exceptional work in these varied sectors has garnered him a reputation for applying creative approaches to understanding people, conscientious attention to detail as well as commitment to win/win outcomes in both career and personal paths.
