Aim and Stats
Aim
Now in our seventh year of
operation, the aim of
the "OD" sessions is to continue to foster an
appreciation of Enterprise Thinking, as well as inthinking,
within an emerging thinking network that is
developing inside Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne and
beyond. Dates for future "OD" sessions along with
additional "thinking" opportunities for 2006 can be
found in this announcement.
OD Stats
For an update on OD statistics, last month's
invitation was sent to 3270 inthinking partners.
With the latest updates to our mailing list, this
month's invitation is going out to 3302 partners in
the U.S., as well as fellow inthinking partners in

Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, India,
Iran, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico,
Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia,

represent over 440 organizations in this list of
nations, from elementary schools and senior high
schools to colleges and universities, from

September 2006 Ongoing Discussion – A Creative Rubric for the Future of Humanity |
|
Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne's Enterprise Thinking
Network joins with the In2:InThinking Network in
inviting members to participate in a
conversation with Dr. Sadruddin Boga.
Dr. Boga's Thought Piece for our discussion is
posted on the In2:InThinking Network website;
"A
Creative Rubric for the Future of Humanity".
This is a provocative and thoughtful
paper that explores the different thinking
trajectories by which we attempt to grasp and deal
with the emerging future. He writes about systems
thinking and its limitations, which might surprise
some of us who base much of our world view on the
"fifth discipline". Dr. Boga weaves together a
number of ideas and concepts drawn from Eastern and
Western thinking.
This paper was written in preparation for a workshop
on "Three Horizons: Shifting Vision to Lead through
the Emerging Future," to be convened at the 16th
Annual
Pegasus Conference on Leading Beyond the
Horizon in November 2006. The author has drawn his
Thought Piece from a number of papers he has
presented at international conferences over the last
several years, and the graduate courses he teaches
in the Center
for Creative Change at Antioch
University Seattle. His themes, while principally
centered on systems thinking, capture many Eastern
ideas. Thoughts articulated in this paper are also
segments of his book in progress titled The Alchemy
of Leadership.
Sadruddin Boga has lived in Africa, India, Europe,
Canada and US, with extensive experience in
management, organizational consulting and higher
education. Currently a professor at Antioch
University Seattle, he has designed, developed and
delivered courses and workshops on systems thinking,
innovation and creativity, global pluralism,
leadership in business, strategic planning, critical
inquiry, and Eastern mysticism. He has a doctoral
degree in human and organizational systems from
Fielding Graduate
University in Santa Barbara,
California.
